Over the years he developed an interest in ultrasound and it’s use in the ER.  He presented a poster at the 2015 Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society meeting that demonstrated finding lung nodules using ultrasound and has a special interest in thoracic ultrasound.

Life took him to Hong Kong in 2014 where he continued to practice emergency medicine while developing interest and skills in ultrasonography.  He was looking for a change in lifestyle so is now pursuing a career as an ultrasonographer full time.

Dr. Kulhavy enjoys travel and has volunteered with animal welfare groups in Greece, India, and Thailand.
